這首歌曲寫於John Gummoe在海軍服役期間，當時正下一場大雷雨

到1962年夏天，於洛杉磯Gold Star Studio(金星錄音室)完成錄音

由”Wrecking Crew”-Hal Blaine擔任鼓手，Carol Kaye負責低音樂器

吉他手是Glen Campbell，由 Perry Botkin改編。再於1962年11月發行

1963年初，迅即進入美國百首排行榜第3名，而風行超過80個國家

這首歌曲吸引人的地方，就在一開始的雷聲，緊接著的雨聲
 
這是前所未有的表現方式！當然，整首歌曲輕快的旋律

也贏得不分年齡層的喜愛！唯一讓人疑惑的是，就歌詞而言
 
它應是一首哀傷的失戀歌曲，與輕快的節奏不合；他們也有同感

所以，後來有慢節奏的截然不同風味版本，也不錯聽喔！
